Today the printer finally arrived. Took more than a week to deliver but in that time I was already reading a lot about 3d printing, what it takes, what could go wrong etc etc.

Also noticed that there are a lot of people out there that start of with this hoby without reading into it. A lot of questions I can see onlin on several facebook pages I could answer already, even before I printed my first ever print. But probably, soon enough, I will most likely run into some (beginner) issues and will need some help.
For now, as the printer has only just arrived, lets do the unboxing and first setup.

Unpacking, and getting all screws and filling material took about an hour. Al well looked at, before taking something out and following the online video manual.

And in the end, the setup looks like :

Now it's time to start it up, and run the first calibration steps.
During this, an error occured stating that something was wrong with the auto tensioner of the belts. A quick google showed me that this might be an over accurate message from the firmware and that a newer firmware was most likely available. So I just continued the process to the end and it finished without any other errors.
After that, I setup the printer to come online, and get the latest firmware update.
Once that was installed I reran the calibration process, and this time no errors occured. (Pfew)
Now it was time to load the filaments.
The package somes with 4 spools of filament that can be inserted fairly simple and the printer notices that you added a filament, runs the filament through the cfs and then magicaly identifies the filemant. Nothing manual to setup for now. But I guess once I insert non creality filaments I most likely have to do some manual steps to make it known correctly to the printer.
Once the filaments are installed, it's time to run the first print. And obviously it will be the 'Benchy' that is alread present in the local storage. I didn't tweak anything, I juste ran this right out of the box, and after autoleveling and 16 minutes of printing it came out very nice.

Now let all the fun begin and start on some projects and downloads....
